Day in London

I’ve been reminiscing back to when we took a trip to London a few weekends ago. It was just the 3 of us this time, Me, the husband and my second youngest as the others were busy doing various bits with family. As always trips like this are rare so I get quite excited!

Little man had high hopes for the Natural history as he’s mad on dinos, what boy isn’t?! But unfortunately the dinosaur section was closed for maintenance. So we decided to venture off to a few places we don’t normally go with the kids. I was a little wary as he’s not the most patient of the bunch and just wants to get there now!!

Off we went to Buckingham palace as first stop, Alfie’s request.

He soon got bored with people squashing and a quick look at the guardsmen and a chat about what he thought the queen was up to, he was off. The park right next to the palace was a great pit stop. A quick refresh & run around.

I love it when he wants to hold my hand!

Now it was my turn to put in a request! I’ve been swooning over a certain website for a while now, SMUG London. It was time to pay them a visit even more so now they have a Cafe! What I didn’t realise was all the tubes were having work done so it was a little more tricky to get there than expected but I was determined, and boy was I pleased I made the effort!!

Smug Lifestyle store is situated in Islington, at Camden passage. The cobbled back streets bring a whole new world to light and you could easily spend half a day there! With teeny antique shops, and china boutiques brimming with prettiness, there was plenty to see. Along with cafes, pubs, and market stalls.

The highlight for me though was definitely SMUG. Lizzie Evans is the brainbox behind this beautiful lifestyle store. From Pineapple tea-towels, beautiful ceramics to Cacti, this store is meant to impress.

Walk in level is the gorgeous shop stocking the most delightful goodies. Downstairs is the cafe, upstairs is the workshop where there are lots of different things going on all the time. Whilst we were there screen printing was taking place. Take a look on the website for plenty more info on the workshops Lizzie holds here.

I cannot wait to get back here!

Of course we managed to squeeze in a trip to Hamleys toy store, A few more cafe stops, and Southbank!
