We love a picnic. Packing up the sarnies, nibbles and ‘treats’ is what we do best! We will often be found at the beach or on a winter walk with a basket in tow, tea and biscuits…..maybe even a bottle of prosecco!
We’ve been fortunate enough to be sent a new product to try out which was perfect for our trip out. Thermafreeze is an innovative ice substitute, perfect for picnics and so much more.
What Thermafreeze have to say:
Thermafreeze Ice Packs are the only viable solution for long-term cooling of food, products, medicine, and beverages, as well as being an exemplary solution in cryotherapy for people, as well as for veterinary use.
The concept is relatively simple; Thermafreeze ice packs contain tiny gel beads that are non-toxic, which are able to soak up large amounts of water and expand when doing so; enabling them to hold that water in a solid, frozen state for long periods of time.
The exterior coating is constructed of 2 very different sides; one side is a printed outer layer containing usage instructions, the other is a Therma-Guard soft cloth layer that is designed to protect anything that Thermafreeze is wrapped around; whether that be soft tissue of your aching arms and legs, or your afternoon lunch!
Thermafreeze ice packs contain tiny gel beads that are non-toxic, which are able to soak up large amounts of water and then expand, enabling them to hold that water in a solid, frozen state for long periods of time. The common ice and gel blocks available are dripping with water within a few minutes followed by a messy puddle in your food bag by the time you’ve arrived to your perfect picnic spot.
Thermafreeze ice packs have certainly given me more chances to enjoy an Al fresco dining experience! I cut mine up to fit in certain bags or click lock containers, they did exactly what they said they would….kept the whole picnic cold for hours. Win win!
Heres how we did ours, I had a few little helpers!
// Thermafreeze arrives dehydrated in large sheets //
// Pictured Black and White pack //
// 1. Cut to size 2. Run approx 3/4 of an inch of warm water and place your sheet in the water 3. Watch the pockets hydrate! 4. Once fully hydrated, the pockets should feel like gel with no remaining crystals 5. Place in the freezer, preferably overnight //
Once frozen, your ice packs are now ready to use, here is some from our picnic.
