The good life experience

So last week we had our first taste of festival life! Needless to say, we loved it!

The Good life experience is a family orientated festival on the North Wales border. Founded by Cerys Matthews, Steve Abbott, and Charlie and Caroline Gladstone, who also run the popular Pedlars Vintage.

Celebrating the great outdoors, crafting, campfire cooking, music, talks, (from Ben Fogle no less!!!) and coming together. Camping on site is an extra bonus to this great event with Beautiful bell tents, fairy lights, the smell of charred wood in the air, oh the simple life!

The entertainment had no boundaries, everything was for all ages. From live music to bushcraft there was so much to do. We did a few workshops, our faves being Grain and Knot woodwork, Sophie worked so well with us which resulted in a half decent spatula made by moi!  Also Golden bear belts who made leather bracelets with the children.

The good life experience is nothing short of an unmissable event of the year.

Food and drink were like stumbling across hidden gems in a treasure hunt, wood fired pizza, Indian to die for and the best Halloumi flatbread I’ve ever tasted!

With the likes of Bill Granger, Valentine Warner, Gill Meller, and Tom Herbert the campfire cooking experiences were pretty hands on! Then being able to enjoy the wonderful dishes cooked in front of us and have a chat with the guys was pretty ace!img_5704

Gin and Vodka were a bit of a highlight, The Black Cow saloon being strategically placed right next to the Vintage fairground worked very well!!

The set up of this place was sooooo good, seating inside and out, relaxed lighting which set the mood, live music and a bustling bar. Children running around bare footed, laughter, and the best vodka in town! Such a friendly bunch too!!

Weve never been to such an event as large where everyone was so happy, friendly and welcoming.

This is definitely one we’ll be attending again and talking about for many years to come I’m sure!
