We’ve just come back from a long weekend stay over the bank holiday at the beautiful Applewood countryside park. The site offers pitches for your own caravan as well as glamping pods and the exciting new addition, the Shepherds cabin.
The Shepherd cabins offer an outdoors experience without sacrificing the luxury! We are campers, but having the option to stay in somewhere cosy, with a shower and kitchen is so much more appealing that putting up the tent getting the wellies out!
Self contained, these cabins have their own en suites, fully fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer also including all cutlery, crockery, glassware, kettle, toaster, and combination microwave oven. The cabin also a private decked area and designated car parking space.
We stayed in the Family Plus cabin ‘Bramble’ which slept 6 of us. These cabins are dog friendly which is great as we were able to take the pup! This is so unusual to find somewhere that caters for our larger family. Featuring king size bunk beds in the centre of the cabin, the top bunks were separated down the middle which was great for the children…..the whole ”he touched me, she looked at me” was eased with this option!
All bedding and towels are provided, to me this one of the best cabin features. As a mum of four trying to pack all bedding and towels etc is a massive struggle when you’re only going away for a weekend so for families this is so good.
The site itself has a children’s play area and extra shower/toilet block if needed. There is a local shop over the road from the site and is very well stocked. As well as a butchers, and fish and chip shop.
The cabins and site are perfect for your furry friends, with lots of grounds to walk your dogs. Each cabin has a small grassed area outside the French doors too which is where we hooked up Winter and he just lay in the sunshine whilst we were enjoying sitting outside!
Another outstanding perk here for families is that Banham Zoo is situated within the grounds so literally walking distance to your cabin and is a great day out with the kids. Every guest to Applewood countryside park gets a special entry offer to the zoo. If you decided you didn’t want a break away where you had to do any travelling to get places then this is it, zoo, play area, and bbq on the decking, holiday made!
The staff are very welcoming and accommodating to your needs here, someone is always on hand if you need anything. Each day the park manager Karen will come round to see everyone is ok and have a chat and ask if there is anything you need. I think this personal touch is a really nice feature to this site, meaning we felt we could ask anything without being as hassle.
We’ve had a wonderful stay here, the children have enjoyed the outside space to just play and make some friends, the dog has been spoilt rotten with the luxury bed and treats provided and we’ve managed to sit in the sunshine with a glass of wine in hand for more than a few minutes!!
I would recommend anyone to stay here, whether you are a couple or a family there is so much to offer for everyone. Applewood countryside park has a Luxury couples cabin too which I’d love to sneak away to next time without the rugrats!
Beautiful countryside, friendly staff, stunning cabins, it’s definitely a break away to remember!
Thank you so much to Applewood countryside park for working with us on this campaign, all words and opinions are completely my own. If you fancy booking your next trip here then head to Applewood countryside park page.
